Anti-Flag/Time Bomb, Le Trabendo -- Friday, June 27, 2008 [28 Jun 2008|09:24pm]

Anti-Flag always fail to deceive.

I started off by buying my ticket just HOURS before the show (no, it wasn't sold out), and left my house by 6:30 pm, only to arrive there an hour later... On my way there, I met some people who were going to another concert at a nearby venue, and since they were lost I decided to take them. It turned out to be quite a fun trip, since the guy was really excited and his girlfriend was talking to me about concerts. It was funny because he thought I was misguiding them and taking them somewhere else, but he turned out to be messing around with me and both people were really nice, and thanked me in the end. ^_^
When I got out of the station, I saw some fellow Anti-Flag fans who told me they had seen the guys ordering food, but I knew that I didn't bring my t-shirt for nothing, so I continued walking and went inside the venue, which was smaller than I thought it would be. 20 minutes later, Time Bomb started playing, and to be quite honest they were pretty good, but some people spent quite an amount of money just for the supporting act and not the main act, which is a bit pointless...

Around 9:15 or so, they finally came on stage, and the crowd went WILD. When I say wild, I mean there were people moshing as soon as they heard the beginning of "Spit On Your Face", and ten minutes later I was sweating from EVERYWHERE. LITERALLY. However, despite the lack of water and the ridiculous amount of sweat trickling from my forehead, I had the BEST TIME OF MY LIFE. Seventeen songs were played, and they played two encores, two! Justin winked at me a few times, and that's when I knew he recognized me.
Since there were no security guards people went on stage and crowd surfed like no other, some of them patting the members on the back, hugging, and even kissing them on the cheek, which they didn't seem to mind. Around the last few songs, some girl got up on stage and danced around in flip flops and a skirt doing fuck all, showing off her "skills", yet she didn't know any of the songs, which pissed me off...
Despite the number of shoes I got in my spine, back, head, and getting back on my feet in the middle of the mosh pit without any help (seriously, they just continued!), they shook people's hands and when Justin saw me he gave me a big hug and said it was nice to see me again! ^__^ I asked him if they would stick around and he told me to wait outside, so I did... but not before I took a picture of us!

When he left, two girls who were in front of me talked to me, and we decided to wait together for the band. I told them about my previous experiences and when they came out, I helped them get autographs and pictures from everyone except Chris Head, who was hiding... After Justin came out we went up to him, and I made small talk about the next tour and the show. He still remembers me from 2006 and called me a sweetheart before giving me two kisses on the cheek (it's how you say hi and goodbye in France -- tradition?), and I promised him I'd see him for the New Year haha. The girls and I then found Chris #2, who was being interviewed, and I asked him if he was hiding or just being shy, to which he replied no. He took pictures with us, signed our ticket stubs and shirts, and at that moment I decided it was time we headed back, since it was 11:30 pm.

I'll scan the ticket stub soon, it's 2 am and I am too excited to sleep, but it was by far the best concert ever.

(this guy, Tyler, replaced Pat Thetic, who had to go back home -- very nice guy)

Like I said, Chris Head was hiding so we couldn't find him... but it was worth it, even though I got kicked in the spine and all.

KHALED EL-MASRI: [translated] I was denied being medically examined. In this room -- they took me to this room, and I had handcuffs, and I had a blindfold. And when the door was closed, I was beaten from all sides. I was hit from all sides. I then was humiliated. And then I could hear just like -- that I could hear that I was being photographed in the process when I was completely naked. Then my hands were tied to my back. I got a blindfold, and they put chains to my ankles and back over my head, and just like the pictures we have seen of Guantanamo, for example. Then I was dragged brutally into the airplane, and in the airplane I was thrown to the floor. I was tied to the floor and to the sides of the airplane. At some point when I woke up again, I found myself in Afghanistan. I was brutally dragged off the airplane and put in the trunk of a car. I was thrown into the trunk of a car.

Sounds like something out of some crazy movie eh? Wrong, that's what the CIA did to a man, who was not even the person they thought he was. He was wrongly accused, and tortured by the American CIA. Meanwhile George Bush says that America does not practice torture, nor does it associate with countries who do. Both of these statements are highly untrue.

My views on Bush and our Government:

Personally, I see Bush as a future Adolf Hitler... Or as a Darth Vader. Blinding himself, and everyone around him with this dillusion of what is right. Spreading this insatiy, that, if it is not followed, the wise will be considered the insane. Nothing is right anymore. This war "we" are fighting in Iraq is meaningless. Bush is pushing Democracy and US customs on their country! He's becoming a dictator, and those who point that out are getting shut up before their cry is even heard. Bush should not have won five years ago, and he should not have one last year. This man was never meant to be in office. We must impeach the bastard before it's too late. Before he ruins the good name America once had. Before he turns us into Nazis in the eyes of the universal nations.

juvenile capital punishment unconstitutional [04 Mar 2005|10:30pm]

[ mood | hopeful ]

At last, the United States is finally starting to take steps to leave its barbaric capital punishment practices behind. It's about time, isn't it? Now if only we could stop torturing our prisoners of war and sending suspects we wanted interrogated to countries where torture is acceptable practice..

The Supreme Court ruled yesterday that the death penalty for minors was unconstitutional due to Amendment VII which forbids cruel and unusual punishment. What astonishes me is that it was 5-4 vote. Four out of five justices felt it all right to murder children in the name of justice. Who are these people? Well, Rehnquist was one of the dissenters, but he doesn't look to be in too good of shape so at least he'll be out of it soon. But I'm terrified of whom might replace him if the Bush Administration appoints his replacement.

Since it is now considered cruel and unusual to kill children, it's not that far of a leap to say it's cruel and unusual to kill anyone. Murder is a crime, is it not? Do not a majority of all religions, agree? Hell, most atheists agree too. Why is our country so wrong headed with it? Taking the life of someone against their will is murder. I highly doubt death row inmates wish to truly die, so then the death penalty must be murder.

"SALT LAKE CITY~ Speaking before an adoring audience of Utah Republicans last night, Governor Mitt Romney drew a link between America's prestige around the world and the legalization of same-sex marriages in Massachusetts.
'America cannot continue to lead the family of nations around the world if we suffer the collapse of the family here at home,' Romney said calling the Supreme Judicial Court's legalization of same-sex marriage in Massachusetts 'A blow to the family'"

because the whole fucking world is going to hate us for letting something be legalized thats legal in their own country

The phillip morrisson compony is the biggest load of crap that this universe has ever seen, which also applies to the tobacco commercial industry. for those of you who dont know, phillip morrisson company is the big tobacco company which owns marlboro and a bunch of other cigarrette companies, phillip morrison created the company a little over 150 years ago. as some of you may know the tobacco industry is not allowed to have commercials on the tv or in magazines mainly read by kids and teens, and arnt in most magazines at all. The tobacco company has to pay for all the commercials and adds NOT to smoke and have to supply all the drug stores with the little posters and tags saying kids cant buy cigarrettes or that its bad for kids to smoke. they have to put their own money and work into making things that are against their product.

Now after this little informative rant you would say "yea, wats your point, its good they do this, this is good news, whats going on?" well that is good, but heres the thing, the tobacco company who have been perfecting commercials for selling their product for over 150 years, and have mastered the art of subliminal messages, are the ones making the commercials against their product. now im getting to the point. today while i was walking to the white hen to buy a bottle of water for my jazzercize class i noticed a little tag on the front window with a case of cigarettes on it. i really didnt think much of it but it somehow stuck with me through my class. once i was done i decided to go take another look at it. it was a little window sticker on the front door. there was a little yellow carton of cigarettes on it and the words across it saying, "dont let kids buy some of these" or soemthign along those lines. the thing was, when the words crossed the carton were "kids" and "buy some" and those words were in black, the rest of the words saying they shouldnt buy them, where ina light red and you could tell that once the sticker is on the door for a while, it will fade to a nice shade of orange. The masters have dont it again, the subliminal message. I walked back a few feet and looked at the sticker again, i could not see the red but i could see the carton and the black words saying "kids buy some"

the tobacco industry are the biggest pigs and low down scum and i cant believe that the government trusted them, with their reputation, to make their own tags. but then again i have always had a little problem with that government of ours anyways.

this si a site that tells about the top ten worst corporations of 2004, wal mart and coca cola are on their, my friend sam and i have been posting in wal mart boards for the longest time and all the chats end up like this...

"their raping the earth, workers, and minds of the entire world"
"But i can get 5 gallons of mr clean for a buck fifty!!!"

alright well thats basically it for the evening, thank you!!!

keep it real
